A stunning handcrafted floor standing Brutalist Italian candleholder manufactured circa 1960s.  A very heavy and well made piece with six candleholders in total.  Five around the outside and one sitting slightly higher to the others in the centre.  Manufactured from wrought iron with eight red circular glazed ceramic discs placed in a circle below the candleholders.  The red glazed enamel feature various symbols which are designed to add colour and interest to the candleholders overall aesthetic. The candleholder may have been made for a church or chapel originally but would look amazing in an entranceway or in the living or dining room or perhaps in a conservatory.  It could be used outside in a garden but it would rust over time.

The candleholder has been used as such in the past but I painstakingly removed all of the existing wax.  Each candleholder has a cup and a spike to catch the wax and to hold each of the church candles in place.  One has come loose over time and is removable which is barely noticeable.

The supporting column has a larger in diameter but smaller in length column section which is covered in a hard wearing textured fabric which maybe leather. It is medieval in style with modern elements making it more contemporary.  , it has a haro in which the 8 lamp holders are held in the form of small torches and a large candle or candle is placed on the central bar.

In good vintage condition.
